History
Intent:
At Parkdale, we want every child to develop the ability to ask perceptive questions, think critically, nurture their curiosity, and understand how people, societies and the wider world have changed throughout history.
Our History curriculum is largely drawn from the 2014 National Curriculum and is carefully sequenced to build knowledge and skills progressively across the school. Rather than studying history through termly themes, all history units are explored through three curriculum lenses: Identity, Diversity, and Peace and Conflict. These lenses are applied consistently across each unit of study, enabling children to make meaningful connections between different periods of history, deepen their understanding of historical concepts, and consider events and experiences from multiple perspectives. Through this approach, pupils develop a richer understanding of the past and how it has shaped the world we live in today.

Year 2 Trip to Cadbury World
