Statement of Intent
At Parkdale, our Music Curriculum aims to provide engaging opportunities for children to develop of love for music and become confident and creative musicians. Through Music, our children can explore their creativity, increase their self-confidence and also develop a sense of achievement when they have produced their very own music!
Young Voices Concert 2026
Last Friday, our choir travelled to Sheffield arena to join in a huge choir and sing with over 5000 children.We’ve been learning the songs since September every Thursday after school and we are so proud of how our choir have shown their dedication by learning 15 songs...
Performing Arts Classes
If your child is interested in the performing arts - musical theatre and drama to film and TV making, then they may be interested in some Saturday morning classes taking place at Bluecoat Trent Academy. Further details can be found on the attached flyer.

Virtual Choir: Proud
During Remote Learning, as part of a whole school project linked to the value ‘PROUD’, we organised a virtual choir!
It was important for us to continue to enjoy singing and find an opportunity to come together and celebrate our efforts and achievements during a challenging time.

Our second virtual choir was created in response to such a positive experience of our first virtual choir. The song ‘Sky Full of Stars’ was chosen in connection with our ‘Natural World’ whole school themed project. We hope you enjoy singing along and watching our outcome created! We are so proud of children’s engagement and participation!

Musicians
At Parkdale, we enjoy listening to and celebrating a diverse range of musicians across the world, whilst exploring genres of music from different periods of time. As part of our Identity topic across the school, some year groups develop a greater awareness of musicians through activities such as ‘Musicians of the Week’!
