Science

Our high-quality science education ensures that pupils are encouraged to recognise the power of rational explanation. In doing so, we aim to develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about the subject. Our pupils are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is happening in the world around them. They will also make predictions about how things will behave and analyse the causes of events and phenomena. Children will build an extensive scientific vocabulary and apply their mathematical knowledge to their understanding of science, including collecting, presenting and analysing data. At Parkdale, we aim to maximise pupils’ engagement with and motivation to study science. We currently follow the White Rose Science scheme, which provides a coherent and progressive curriculum that develops scientific knowledge, enquiry skills and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts through practical and engaging learning experiences.
