The Outline of the Day

We operate an ‘unusual school day! We started to run a staggered start during the Covid-19 pandemic, to better facilitate social distancing. Feedback from our community told us that this was popular, particularly that the option of an earlier drop-off was helpful to families. As educators, we found value in the additional time that children were in school, to offer catch-up tuition, extra support, pastoral time and more. Staff kindly work an extended day, in a voluntary capacity, to accommodate this

So… our school day runs as follows:

08:15 – Gates open – children may remain with their adults on the playground or go beyond the picket fence where there will be staff present. This is down to parent/carer choice.

08:25 First bell, children present go to class for register and to start learning. Subsequent arrivals may stay with their adults on the playground or go beyond the picket fence where there are staff present. This remains down to parent/carer choice.

08:40 Second bell, children present go into class for register and to start learning (by 8:45)

09:00 Registers close

15:30 End of the school day

Breaks In The Day

All children have an hour for dinner. The exact time varies from phase to phase.
