World Book Day
World Book Day is going to be on Thursday 7th March 2024.
There will be no dressing up this year.
This year we are continuing our theme of Parkdale’s Vocabulary Vault from last year. However, this year we want to step it up a challenge… on the day the children are going to be tasked with the question ‘If you could dress up as any word, what would it be?’ We will share some of their costume designs on the school website.
Each class will be partaking in lots of different “book” related activities throughout the day. A small description of what they will be getting up to will be on each year group page on the school website. One popular request we will be making time for is our fabulous ‘Drop Everything And Read’ sessions with different year groups. This is where the older children can mix with the younger children to share stories and talk about our favourite authors and characters. We are sure they will tell you all about it!
Parkdale’s Book Fair
We are excited to be welcoming the Scholastic Travelling Book Fair to Parkdale once again. The Book Fair will be at school for 3 days, starting on Friday 1st March until Tuesday 5th March. The Book Fair will take place after school and be cashless again this year. More information on The Book Fair will come closer to the event.
