At present, we still have no crossing patrol. Notts County Council are advertising the post, but as yet have not recruited. Whenever possible, we will have a member of staff near the crossing point on Parkdale Road to support safer crossing, but this may not always be possible.
One way that our community could help would be to not park illegally on the single yellow lines outside school. parking here reduces visibility on the crossing for pedestrians and drivers alike and causes passing vehicles to pull out at they approach the crossing. We have asked the enforcement officers to step up their patrols and they issued a number of fixed penalty notices earlier this week.
We continue, as we have for many years, to request a zebra crossing outside the school, but this sadly remains unlikely.
