Our girls returned to Gedling PSFA League action after the Winter break with a challenging away match at Lambley.

A good Lambley side – well organised, skilful and physically very big and strong –  raced into an early lead from which we never recovered. Two nil down in the first few minutes, we improved steadily and became more competitive as the match went on, but we rarely threatened to turn it around. Our girls showed real character and resilience and never gave up. The final score was 6-0 to the hosts, though the second half had been a much more even affair, with us helped somewhat by the ‘powerplay’ rule.

The girls should feel proud of their efforts in difficult circumstances and that they played throughout wit smiles and enthusiasm says a lot about them.
