Welcome to Bulletin #12

Here we are, coming to the end of another busy week in school. Year 3 have enjoyed a talent show and what a talented bunch they are! Year 4 have been making pottery Viking longboats, many of them with family members who came along to join the fun. As I write (Friday morning), we’re setting up for some inter-house sports events and I can see that the Hall is booked for various Christmassy rehearsals. It’s all go!

From me, a big well done to the eleven Year 5 tag rugby players who represented us brilliantly in the tournament hosted by the High School last Friday. I’d originally been due to accompany them to this, having been coaching them all this term, but a late change of date scuppered that plan. Nonetheless, Mr Pattison and Miss Imrie reported back that they were a credit to us and the children tell me it was great fun. It has to be said that collectively, our current Year 5 are particularly very, very good at tag rugby!

We’re continuing to look at playtime provision and it looks likely we will certainly be aiming to give the children the option to be out on the field much more often. As afar as resources and organisation go, we’re considering a few options and Mrs Walker and myself are off this afternoon to look at provision in  a school in Eastwood which seems to have adopted a very successful approach to this.

A relatively short bulletin this week, so a couple of news items below are repeated from last week; we still have a few table tennis tables available for sale and our new ones have arrived now. We’re also highlighting the Food Hub again in case it was missed last week. We start with a reflection on tragic local news and our sincere condolences to all affected.
