‘It’s a Bread and Butter Thing’ is an organisation that works closely with local supermarkets and farmers to distribute their excess stock of food to local people who can use it up.
Our friends Remi and Pearl Anekwe from the ReChurch here in Carlton, are setting up a new Food Hub in Carlton and have asked that we share this with you.
All the information is on the attached flyer, but essentially you can register to receive approx. £35 worth of groceries for £8.50 each week and that includes fresh fruit and vegetables, fridge favourites and cupboard staples. This is not the Carlton Hope Food Bank that we collect for at Harvest, this is a completely different project that is supporting the reduction of food waste along side making your grocery budget go further.
If you are interested you need to complete a free registration and the new Hub opens on the 27th of November. Once registered you will be contacted each week on the Tuesday to see if you would like to buy a food box this week and then your box is delivered to the Hub for pick up at 2pm on the Thursday.
Please see the attached flyer for full details and how to register.
Parkdale are promoting this for our families and community. If you have any questions please direct them to the Carlton Hub or to Remi Anekwe of the ReChurch – Phone: 01159-100120, Lowater Street, Carlton, Nottingham NG4 1JJ.
