Welcome to Bulletin #34

Yay! We have made it to half-term. It has been a very short one, which is nice, but what we’ve realised is that we’ve just had to cram the usual stuff into a shorter number of weeks. It’s all been a bit frantic. Nice, but frantic.

Wishing everyone a lovely week and safe travels if you are off anywhere. It’s Mallorca for me – sun, beach and cycling up big mountains, including this one, the legendary Sa Colobra, just 10.2km, but a steep 722m climb from the sea. I’ll be glad to get back to work for a rest!

Extra INSET Day 2026

Trustees have asked schools to add an INSET Day on the last day of the Summer Term 2026. Consequently, we are adding Friday the 17th July 2026 as an INSET Day, meaning school will close to pupils for the Summer holiday on Thursday the 16th.

Ripley’s Act of Kindness

We appreciate the lovely, kind nature of the typical ‘Parkdaler’. it is something that visitors, official and unofficial, tend to notice and comment on. A lovely example to share from this week when when Ripley, 5 Maple, went to the trouble of writing a kind, motivational thought on a card to give to each of her classmates and her teacher. She did this ‘off her own bat’ and not expecting anything in return. She just wanted to be kind. What a fantastic example of our values. Thank you Ripley.
