Welcome to Bulletin #12
It’s been quite the week! While the snow is fun and looks pretty, it does present us with some challenges, to say the least. The aftermath, the slush and ice, is probably even worse!
We will always try to remain open. Many parents and carers need to go to work and depend on us being open and many do critical jobs in society – NHS, Police, Fire Service, to name but a few. We have all sorts in our community, including plenty who don’t get paid if they fail to turn up for a shift themselves and not forgetting the self-employed for whom keeping working is so crucial.
We have faced some criticism and resistance to being open, but the great majority of our community seem pleased that we do and we have no intention of changing our philosophy on this.
It looks warmer (but wet and blowy) next week. We’ll cope with whatever comes our way!
Lots of news and a busy diary to follow in the bulletin, including details of an important consultation, on which we would welcome your views…
