Gosh, how many of these must I have done over the years? This is my last bulletin and I’ve penned a farewell letter for anyone who wants to read it. I’ll not be offended if you don’t though! To distract me from the emotion, I set myself the challenge of including as many references to songs by The Clash – the only band that matters. Some of them are a bit corny, for which I apologise! πŸ˜‰

If you want to save yourself a long read and some bad puns, the letter can be summarised as “thanks everyone, it has been a privilege. You’ve been great, this community is great, the staff are great, the school is great and will continue being great. Mostly though, the children have been great – incredible, in fact.”

Many, many thanks to all who have said nice things and those who have given me lovely gifts – completely unnecessary, but much appreciated and very, very kind.

PH Last Day Letter

From Monday, Mr Pattison will be at the helm and I wish him every success for the remainder of the year. He will have strategic support from another experienced Transform head, Claire Paparozzi, who I know well and who is thoroughly lovely. You should see her around from time to time from next week. Claire is long-serving head of William Booth, just down the road in Sneinton, a lovely school which very muchΒ  shares our community values. I’ve handed over to the team here and to Claire as thoroughly as I can and I wish them a smooth transition and all the very best.
