Welcome To Bulletin #4

“Have you been over in Seville watching Forest then?” I was asked more than once out on the playground this morning. Sadly not! Whilst friends and family not tied to school terms were having a jolly old time out there, I wasn’t even able to get out to watch the match on TV, being bed-bound by what I suspect has been Covid. As has been pointed out to me, I can hardly complain about the term-time thing. I get thirteen weeks a year and I’m able to cram a lot of exotic football into those. And Partick Thistle.

Some recurring themes in this week’s bulletin. It’s frustrating to be having to mention parking again, but sadly some of our neighbours are really experiencing quite unacceptable behaviour from some of our parents and carers. It reflects badly on the school, on us as a community and it creates a significant amount of work for us around something that is not even really our job to police. Personally, I find it embarrassing having to apologise to neighbours so frequently. I think we can do better.

No apologies for re-posting the internet safety feature from last week. We have had another week of considerable disruption to learning, some really harmful impact on children’s wellbeing and some reportable safeguarding concerns relating to children’s unsupervised use at home of age-restricted  platforms they should not even be on. We’d urge all parents and carers to be very aware of what their children are doing online and when they’re doing it. We’re seeing evidence of lots of children being very active online right through the night, which can’t be healthy!

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend when it arrives..
