Welcome to Bulletin #27

Happy Friday and Happy Red Nose Day! School is awash with red clothes, hair and noses. Odd socks too for Downs Syndrome Day!

It has been another typically busy week in school. It has been lovely to see so many families in for various events and activities, including  very much appreciated ‘Groundforce’ team helping tidy up Reception’s outdoor learning space. We’ve had a big Apple visit from schools across the country to see how we use technology and they all left very impressed – not only with the tech, but with the environment, curriculum and the behaviour and ability of the children. We’ve also been paid a visit by an official from Table Tennis England, who wanted to see the efforts we’re making to promote the sport, one of our core PE sports right through the school. Again, another visitor leaving, as impressed with the skills and behaviour of the children as with anything else. Look out for more exciting developments in Table Tennis – we’re on their radar now and things looks set to really take off for us.

It’s not all perfect, of course – Year 5 parents will be aware of a bit of a ‘hiccup’ there over behaviour and values and we’re grateful for all the information sharing we’ve received over that, which has enabled us to address it promptly. As ever with these things, we treat it as a learning opportunity and hope to come out of it all the better. Upwards and onwards!

If you’re reading this on Friday, wishing you a lovely weekend…
