Welcome to Bulletin #16…
…the first of 2026. On behalf of all the team here, a very Happy New Year to everyone!
At the time of writing, we’re getting away with the worst of the weather locally and all bar two of our staff have been able to get here. The unfortunate two are up Mansfield way where it is significantly worse. Here in and around school we’re all good, though we might have a day off the field today – its very swampy and just not very pleasant at all after last night’s heavy rainfall.
There is big news from Mr Pattison immediately below, but this has not been shared with children yet. Mr P wanted to get the news off his chest and planned to address the children today, but he is one of the ‘Mansfield Two’. He will announce and explain this in Assembly on Monday, so you might want to wait until Monday evening before discussing with your children.

Hello everyone…
Just a simple little note from me to say that I will be leaving at the end of the Summer Term. It wasn’t an easy decision, having been here for 13 memorable years or so, but the time has come to say goodbye. I am going to miss this place- the community, my colleagues and, most of all, the amazing children we have here. A big shout out also to those children who have moved from Parkdale onto Secondary and beyond. I miss them too! Yes, I am showing my age now- 13 years of memories, with those memories being filled with fun, laughter, jokes and positive attitudes. Time to go now but don’t worry kids?? You are stuck with me until July. We have 7 months left to have fun, work hard and make Parkdale the special place it is. I am sure Parkdale will continue to go from strength to strength.
I can’t think of a joke to end on or one of my many annoying catch-phrases!! No poem either but, if I had written one, it would be mention the children…over and over again. It’s all about them. It’s all about the children!
