Welcome to Bulletin #9
Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn Term. I hope everyone had a good half-term week. My own travels were great, though predictably enough Cologne lost both matches I saw. We’re back in the swing of things; plans and early practices for nativities and Christmas shows are already underway and we have the traditional Remembrance events next week. The school grounds are looking very Autumnal with piles of beautiful leaves, which the children obviously love jumping into. We’ll leave them there for now – they add a bit of colour and character – and get onto removing them when they reach that horrible slimy, soggy point!
We’ve already had a couple of trips out and about. Year Three went to learn about Egyptians at the museum in in Leicester. It seems they had a great time and came back with glowing feedback from everyone they met about their behaviour and manners. Similarly Year Four have been into town to the Castle and had a good time whilst doing themselves proud with their conduct out in public. We’ve also had Bikeablity sessions going on throughout the week. Our new Homework Space started on Thursday and it was lovely to see a good number of parents and children using this to get their homework done here and with more access to resources to support etc – all part of us trying to respond to demand and hopefully make busy lives a bit more manageable for families.
Two celebrations to note this week. Bonfire Night has officially been, but we’re sure plenty of families will be marking that this coming weekend. Have fun and stay safe if so. We had an Assembly about the history and origins back on Monday.

Secondly, it has been Guru Nanak’s birthday, a very significant day for our Sikh community. Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism and his messages of social fairness, honesty and love sit very well with the values we all hold so dear.
On with the round-up…
