Our ‘a’ team were in competitive action on Tuesday, up against West Bridgford Juniors in the Notts Schools FA County Cup. This is Nottinghamshire’s most prestigious primary school football competition and always attracts the highest quality teams..

A very strong, powerful and well-organised Bridgford team dominated possession in the first half, but our defence held firm and we created a few good chances of our own for good measure. Our visitors took the lead on about fifteen minutes, but we came back strongly, applied a bit of pressure and were rewarded wih an equaliser just as half-time approached.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Bridgford having more possession, but Parkdale threatening on the break. Again, the defence held firm for a while, until we conceded a second goal. This forced us to press a bit more and we were undone by two more goals to give a final scoreline of 4-1.

Our team, which included three Year 5s, worked tirelessly, up against a very, very good side who will doubtless get some very big wins this year. 4-1 was very respectable and our team did us proud. We played some good football, worked hard as a team and played in a great, positive spirit.
