We are now able to confirm this year’s outcomes in the statutory Y4 Multiplication Tables Check.
The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in Year 4 is a statutory assessment in England designed to test pupils’ ability to recall multiplication facts up to 12 x 12. It’s an online, on-screen check administered to all year 4 pupils in state-funded schools, academies, and special schools. The purpose is to identify students who may need extra support in mastering their times tables, which are crucial for future mathematical success.
We have included previous years or comparison and national averages where available- there is no defined ‘pass mark’, the reportable number is percentage of children achieving 25/25
2025: 72% (national not announced yet)
2024: 60% (national = 34%)
2023: 52% (national = 29%)
2023: 50% (national 27%)
Obviously, we are delighted with these, which reflect the hard work of the children, their families in helping them practice at home and the huge efforts and commitment of the Y4 team here.
