Year Six have been set a creative challenge – a project they can keep coming back to for the remainder of their time with us.
Mr H introduced them to what many would rate as the greatest recorded album of all time – What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye, his environmental and social-justice masterpiece.
Given some historical context of the times and following discussion about how the themes still resonate 50+ years on, the challenge is to produce some creative output that continues the message of caring for the planet and one another. The focus is the two tracks: What’s Going On and Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology).
The children have been encouraged to think big and think out-of-the-box. Their outcomes can be digital, artistic, musical, poetic, sculptural or drama. Anything creative, in fact! We’ll see what they come up with…
