Well everyone- what a week!

It would be rather uninspiring listing all the things we have done this week but there has been lots going on to end what has been a busy term. From an Easter Bonnet Parade to a Science Exhibition. To appointing a new Headteacher to the girls playing in a football tournament. To appointing a new Site Manager to….well, you get the idea. Busy, as usual! It’s all GO!

A reminder too that school reopens after Easter on Monday the 13th of April. Year 1’s?? You will be heading to Crich for a visit on the very first day back. The Trust will also be in after Easter, doing their mini inspections on Parkdale, known as their Spotlight Visits. There will also be Parents Evenings for everyone( apart from Year 6) on the first Wednesday and Thursday back- the 15th and 16th of April. New topic Webs and letters will also be uploaded to the website by the 17th of April.

Depending upon when you pick up this message, many of our staff will be going to or will have been to Eula Sartain’s funeral this afternoon at 3.00pm. Many will then have made their way to the Wake at 4.00pm. It is a sad time for us all here and we thank you for allowing our staff to pay their respects to Eula. As I said in a previous message, Eula was ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS- a true friend for the children. She will be deeply missed here at Parkdale and our thoughts go out to her family and close friends at this upsetting time. After Easter, School Council will then begin the process of remembering Eula with the tributes that have been decided- volunteered by the children of Parkdale and selected by School Council. Pupil voice here has certainly spoken. More details to follow soon.

And so, all that remains now is for me to wish you all a good holiday over Easter and we look forward to seeing you back again on the 13thof April.  And Year 6??? Don’t forget all that lovely REVISION HOMEWORK. EGGCELLENT! GO on and EGGCEED ALL EXPECTATIONS. YOU CAN DO IT YEAR 6!

Polite reminder about communication in school

We remain committed to organising events that strengthen parental engagement, which is highly valued within our school community. This week’s Science Exhibition showcased the enthusiasm and dedication of our staff, who work hard to inspire a love of learning in our pupils and also our pupils and parents’ involvement in their child’s learning.

We kindly remind all members of our community of the importance of modelling our core values of respect, pride, and celebration. We are aware that some inappropriate language and unkind comments were used, which could have been heard by pupils and caused upset during an event they felt proud to share. While we always welcome constructive feedback, we do not accept language or behaviour that undermines the efforts of our staff or the positive, happy environment we strive to create. We appreciate your support with this.
