Hello all
Yet another week completed and only one more week until Easter! EGGCELLENT!!
Not only another week but another busy week here at school. It is also important to stress that Parkdale is all running smoothly at the moment. Everyone is pulling together and everything remains as it was before Mr Hillier left. It is just simply business as usual. The Head teacher applications have been shortlisted by the Trust and interviews for the job (Head at Parkdale) will take place next week. We wish all the candidates well who have been shortlisted. Exciting times…or should that be EGGCITING TIMES? Sorry about the jokes. No more- promise, so let’s get cracking!!
This Sunday, seventeen lucky children will be going to the National Table Tennis Championships as Mascots. It should be a great time and a real honour to be honest. The Year 5’s and 6’s who are going( from table tennis club) are very excited and Mr Hillier will be there too! Hmm… What else? The World Famous Parkdale Easter Bonnet Parade will take place next week, as will a fantastic Science Exhibition straight after. It is Year 6 Parents Evening too. Don’t worry, the rest of you! All the other Parents Evenings will take place straight after Easter.
And now some very important news regarding our Mid-Day- Eula Sartain, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago.
Many staff here have been deeply upset by what has happened and have asked to go to the funeral. I have asked Trust if school can close early that day to allow our staff members to attend this. A lot of staff want to go and pay their respects, meaning it would be simply impossible to remain open. The Trust have said that Parkdale can close early. Therefore, on the 27th of March, at 1.15pm, Parkdale will be closing. All children will have their lunch as per usual. Parents/ Carers will then need to collect their children from the usual places at this time of 1.15pm. The school gates will be open at 1.05pm. The children will get their mark in the register and then depart. All staff will remain in school working when the children have gone and, at 2.15pm, the staff attending the funeral will be allowed to leave. Again, the rest of the staff will remain in school, working on the school environment. We, of course, apologise for this disruption but this is the right thing to do considering these difficult circumstances. Mr Chell will also be there at 1.05pm on site to say his goodbyes to the staff, parents and children. We wish him well.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mr Pattison
