We are thrilled to share some fantastic news: our school has been awarded the prestigious Silver Artsmark Award by Arts Council England. This achievement highlights our ongoing commitment to embedding creativity and the arts into our everyday learning experiences across the curriculum. Throughout school, we have strived to increase the range of arts and cultural learning experiences for all children. From local theatre visits to performing on stage in a variety of shows, the impact on everyone involved has been positive. Assessors evaluated our evidence and commented on the following:
“In summary, your strengths are your ethos and values, your offer within school both through the curriculum and in extra-curricular activities, curriculum professional development for staff and your consideration of equity and diversity.”
A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, pupils and supportive community who have made this possible. Together, we continue to foster a love for creativity, expression and artistic growth.
Moving forwards, we’ll be looking to develop partnerships with local artists and aim to develop initiatives such as ‘drawing therapy’ to support pupil wellbeing. We also aim to inspire our pupils by inviting a range of artists into school to talk about a wide range of careers within the arts. If you happen to work in the arts, or know someone who does, and would be willing to share an insight into your line of work, please contact Mrs Carter. We’d love to hear from any musicians, graphic/fashion designers, architects, photographers, interior designers, animators and illustrators – the list is long!! 🎭
