We do not set homework for the Summer holidays. The holidays are a break and a chance to recharge the batteries.
However, we really do encourage children to continue to read for pleasure as much as possible. This keeps their skills fresh and helps their vocabulary develop in readiness for the coming year. Hopefully, it’s also a lovely way to relax!
You can find the reading spines for the coming year here – why not make a start on some of the books in it? They’re all great!

Our English subject page is full of book recommendations, including the ‘Books To Read Before The End of Year x’ lists.
We can also highly recommend the national Summer Reading Challenge
The Nottingham Libraries gateway to this is here: https://www.nottinghamcitylibraries.co.uk/summer-reading-challenge/
Why not visit the exciting new Nottingham Central Library – it looks great! https://www.nottinghamcitylibraries.co.uk/library/nottingham-central-library/
