At half-term, we say goodbye to much-loved midday supervisor Mrs (Yvonne) Wright.
Yvonne has been part of the fabric of Parkdale since 1991, December 9th to be precise, a whopping 34 years of service. We are sure you will join us in wishing her a happy retirement. On Yvonne’s start day, Elton John and George Michael were number one with Don’t let The Sun Go Down On Me. Many of our staff weren’t even born. There are parents of children here now who remember Mrs Wright from their own time here! Leeds United were top of the old League Division One (the Premier League started the next season!), Forest were 10th and Notts County were in it it too at 18th, along with Oldham Athletic and Luton Town – all three have since been out of the league at one point or another – and Wimbledon, who ceased to exist, but are back as a new club now.
We also bid a fond farewell to Kelly (Dickinson) from the office team. Kelly has been on the ‘front-line’ since 2014, a great eleven years of support for all of us. Kelly is a real Parkdale-person, having also had two children through the school. We’ll really miss her and all her help and patience! Again, we are sure you will join us in wishing Kelly all the best as she explores other careers for a bit of a change. In case you’re now wondering, number 1 on her start date: All About That Bass, by Megan Trainor. Chelsea were top of the Premier League and Forest were 2nd in the Championship under Stuart Pearce, but fell away to a thoroughly dismal 14th. Notts too were having a grim season, finishing 22nd in League One.
Coming back, we have Mrs (Rebecca), Hayes returning from her Mat Leave into the hurly-burly world of Year Six, to be re-united as a team with Mrs James in 6 Beech. Welcome back, Becky!
And… we welcome a new starter into the office. A very warm welcome to the office for Mrs Anisa Jawaid. We had a great response to this vacancy and interviewed three brilliant candidates, all from our immediate community and all of whom we could happily have employed.
We extend a very warm welcome aboard to Clayton Wilson, a newly appointed apprentice TA and to Sigourney Dilks, Midday Supervisor.
