Pantomime Arrangements
On Wednesday 4th December, we will be taking children from Key Stage 2 to see the pantomime in Nottingham.
The children will leave Parkdale at 1.30pm and travel to the theatre on the coaches provided. All children should wear their school uniform. It can get quite warm in the Playhouse, so please send your child with a bottle of water or juice. This can simply be in their usual water bottle. Please do not send in pop or drinks in glass bottles for obvious reasons.
We appreciate the afternoon is a long time for some children (and adults). Therefore, we are happy to allow pupils to bring a snack to be eaten during the interval. If you would like your child to have a snack during the afternoon, please provide them with a sensible amount (small bag) of sweets, chocolate or some kind of healthier snack. Eating loads will only lead to children feeling sick- either there or on the coach. It also needs to be pointed out that children will not be able to share their sweets due to potential allergy issues. Please avoid anything with nuts in.
We expect the children will return to Parkdale at around 5.45-6.00. However, it is possible that there might be a delay due to the rush hour traffic. In the past, the bus drivers have had considerable difficulty getting back to school because of parked cars on both sides of Southdale/Parkdale Road and on the keep clear lines outside the school. This presented a hazard for other drivers and pedestrians. Please be considerate when parking. Thank you for your support with this.
Please collect your child from the class teacher in the School Hall, entering via the back blue door. It will not be possible to collect your child directly from the Playhouse in Nottingham. It is also not possible for you to collect your child as they step off the bus, as we need to know that every child is safe and accounted for. For health and safety reasons, your child must be collected by an adult from the hall. Again, your support with this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your continued support. I am sure the children will have a great time!! OH NO THEY WON’T…OH YES THEY WILL!!!!!!!!!!!! Who knows?? Perhaps I might return with yet another RED ROSE??
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jason Pattison
