European Day of Languages is held each year on 26th September. It celebrates the different languages that are spoken in Europe. The day celebrates the different people, culture and languages of Europe. In our assembly we discussed why learning a language was important and why learning about different countries and cultures helps us develop our cultural understanding.

Yesterday Parkdale fully embraced the day. There was a buzz of excitement, fun and enjoyment throughout school. The children enjoyed a carousel of workshops celebrating different countries in Europe. Workshops included flamenco dancing, chalk art linked to the Northern lights, Tour guiding round the Netherlands and Finland, Yodelling from Austria, Little Mermaid drama, cubism art inspired by a French artist.. and more!

Watch out for individual posts and photos from teachers about the workshop they held.

A fun filled day had by all.
