Today, Friday 13th June, sees our celebration of Eid, which was over last weekend. This is a chance for us to enjoy a bit of a party day alongside our Muslim friends and neighbours and generally have a lovely time. It is great to see the children in their non-school uniform, with many of our Muslim children choosing to express their identity in traditional dress; there are some very beautiful, elaborate and smart outfits being proudly worn today. It reflects brilliantly on our community that we are all able to recognise and share one another’s important celebrations in some way – it works well here, both ways; after all, we do have so much in common.
