Parkdale Football, Promoting Hope, our local foodbank
Two fantastic winning performances in the space of two days propelled our boys to an unexpected Gedling PSFA league championship, qualifying them for the Champions Cup knockout competition.
The team followed up on Thursday’s 4-1 against Porchester with a out-of-the blue, sensational 2-1 win against league leaders Stanhope. This was certainly the match-of-the-season, thrilling from start to finish. We had to ‘dig in’ against very talented opposition and put in a fantastic defensive performance with two great goals on the break. A bit Forest-esque, in fact!
Everyone played their part, but special mention to Tyler in our goal, who had a quite incredible match to repeatedly frustrate Stanhope’s very lively star forward. Every player showed determination, resilience and no small amount of bravery. We stayed organised, focussed and played some great football ourselves when we had possession.
So… having expected our season to be over, we now get ready for the thrills and spills of knockout cup football against other local league winners. Bring it on! 🙂
