We are looking forward to seeing everyone, children and grown-ups alike, tomorrow. The Hall renovations will not be completed, but we can manage and will be able to serve hot dinners one way or another! As mentioned in an app message yesterday, children bringing packed lunches should keep them with them on arrival. The trolleys won’t be out.

We are acutely aware that some of the current ‘patriotic’ activity might be making some of our wonderfully diverse community feel uneasy. Sadly, we have heard of unpleasant incidents targetting some of our own families and their businesses. Not in our immediate area, we hasten to add, which thankfully feels much as it usually does.

We would like to assure everyone in our community that, as it proudly states on the mural in Early Years, all are welcome here. We hope to have some bunting out, celebrating the flags of all the world, dependent on it arriving today. Even if it doesn’t, know that we recognise that there is a place for flags, being proud of one’s cultural heritage and that is fine as long as the intent is celebratory not intimidatory.

No matter how you start your day, what you wear when you play, or if you come from far away…

We’re part of a community, our strength is our diversity, a shelter from adversity…

ALL ARE WELCOME HERE
