As previously reported, Mrs Hayes’ Mat Leave starts after half-term and we are sure you will join us in wishing her all the very best for that.
We wanted to avoid having a supply cover in for Mrs Hayes’ part of the week if we could. With SATs, Year 6 is a particularly tricky year to cover – it’s probably not that appealing to a supply teacher which limits the pool for likely contenders. Stability is important too, of course.
So… the plan is as follows, with senior staff taking on some extra teaching time to cover 6 Beech.:
Mrs Taylor will do an extra day a week to cover Fridays. Our thanks to her for changing her work pattern to support with this; it obviously has quite an impact on her work-life balance!
Wednesday and Thursday cover will be provided by whoever is available week-to-week of Mr Pattison, Mrs Hinton or Mr Hillier
This arrangement we feel is a ‘win’ The children will be taught and cared for by people they know, who know them, who know how Parkdale works and the expected high standards. It’s also saving the school approximately £20,000 in supply costs at a time when we’re finding it a challenge to balance the books.
