As part of our sustainable development topic, the children brought in recyclable materials to re-use in their artwork. We were inspired by artist Rob Arnold who creates sculptures out of materials he finds on UK beaches.
First we practised different sculpting techniques using clay – rolling, pinching, coiling and joining using a slip.
Then children practised using newspaper to build up a 3D shape before covering and re-using materials to make sea-creatures.
