Welcome to Bulletin #21

Typing in that heading, that we’re at Bulletin 21, has made me realise how quickly the year is passing. There are 39 weeks of school, so we must be over halfway through!

It has been another lovely week in school with lots of great things going on. It’s not perfect and things do go awry from time to time but there’s not much we can’t sort or at least improve. On which subject, just a quick update on the state of the fencing at the drop-off/pick-up area. This, along with replacing the ever-popular Trim Trail,  should’ve been upgraded and had new gates added earlier this month. Sadly, the company doing the work went into voluntary liquidation the very week that we were due. We are now expecting to get this important work done by the end of February – and hopefully see at least some of our £13,000 deposit back! Upwards and onwards…

Staffing News

As many of you will know, 5 Maple teacher Mrs Miller-Orme is expecting her first child and her maternity leave is due to start in April. We are delighted to have recruited a teacher to cover this from September; the already very popular Miss Imrie, who has been working with us on long-term supply this year. Miss Imrie is off on pre-arranged travels next week, an exciting sounding long-term haul around Thailand and wherever else takes her fancy in that part of the world. We wish her all the best with that and look forward to welcoming her ‘properly’ into our community in September Meanwhile, we will find a suitable agency teacher to take good care of 5 Maple for the Summer Term.

We have also decided to make a few changes to how staffing is organised in Reception. No starters or leavers, just a bit of a re-organisation. Reception parents/carers should receive a letter about this shortly if they haven’t already!
