You will be aware of the catastrophic earthquake that has hit parts of Turkey and Syria, bringing thousands of deaths and casualties and unimaginable hardship and suffering for people there.

We would like to encourage contributions to the Disasters and Emergencies Committee’s fundraising appeal.

To this end, we will be having a non-uniform day on Monday the 20th February, the first day back after half term. The day will have a theme as we hope to create a mosaic of the Turkish and Syrian flags, or at least their colours, on the playground. Whilst not compulsory, we would love to see children in any one of or a combination of red, white, black and green. If that isn’t possible, don’t stress, we can hold up cards to make the flag colours!

There are many ways to donate, but the two we are suggesting are Islamic Relief (where you can choose for your donation to be counted as Zakat) or the British Red Cross. Note, whilst both sites have ‘pre-loaded’ donation options, both have the option for ‘other’, which can be a smaller amount of your choosing. Links below:
