We took a strong girls’ team to the inaugural Transform Trust girls championship at the Powerleague. On a bleak, cold, wet day the girls showed great attitude and strength of character throughout. Their football was pretty good too!

We dominated our qualifying group, winning every match of four without conceding a goal and never looking likely to:

3-0 v Highbank

3-0 v Whitegate

1-0 v Edale

1-0 v Brocklewood.

This took us through to ,

This took us through to the semi-finals, where we ruthlessly dispatched what had looked to be a strong South Wilford side who had comfortably won their own group, 4-0.

Onto the final and up against Pear Tree Juniors from Derby. Another overwhelming display against another group winner saw us cruise to a 4-0 victory to lift the big trophy.

The girls were amazing: skilful, resilient, sporting and very, very good at the sociable bit, representing our school brilliantly.

Squad: Amy, Lola, Kaitlyn, Inaya, Eliza, Ava, Isla-Rose, Jessica, Aamira, Remae.

All played a full part and all got onto the pitch for game-time in the final – a real collective effort.
