Our cricket squad had their 2nd full-on hardball match yesterday, against County Champs Heymann from West Bridgford. On a lovely evening at Ellerslie CC, our boys put on a good performance, but lost in the end by 13 runs.

We bowled well and kept Heymann to a ‘gettable’ score of 76-4. Our innings set off well, with Ollie piling on some quick runs for us and we looked on track, but a mid-innings loss of wickets set us back a bit. You can’t afford to get run out 4 times is the lesson to learn here!

A last pairing onslaught from Max and Alex brought us back into reach, but it was to much to ask. We finished on 63-5.

Again though, a great step on our introduction to this format of cricket and a lovel, friendly and sporting match – as it should be!
