Welcome to this week’s bulletin – a round up of news from the website and a few new bits…

School Finance

We have been pleased, not to say relieved, to hear headlines that the Government have plans to support schools with their fuel costs this year. We do not know the extent yet or how this will be achieved, but it is a welcome bit of positive news that will certainly help reduce our projected shortfall this year.

OfSTED

Some of us had a ‘feeling’ that we would have had the call for inspection this week. This did not happen (you would have heard about it!), but it remains imminent. Frankly, most of us would like to get this done and dusted and are looking forward to showing off our school and your brilliant children.

Parking

As so often, parking outside school is causing some concerns and some anger in the community. We urge parents and carers to take heed of the yellow lines that restrict parking outside the school at drop-off and collection times. The lines are there to keep visibility from the pavements clear and also to preserve signt-lines for the official crossing. Parking on them makes the road less safe for children. It is worth noting that Notts County Council have increased the number of camera enforcement vans they have and are currently focussing very much on schools.

A reminder of next Friday’s INSET Day and an apology that this was omitted from the pdf version of the school calendar. Apologies repeated here. We’re very sorry: https://parkdale-primary.co.uk/inset-our-apologies/
