Welcome to this week’s bulletin…

Another busy week in school and lots to read in this bulletin. Wishing everyone, royalists or otherwise, a lovely extended weekend (again!). A reminder that we are closed for the extra Coronation Bank Holiday on Monday and re-open on Tuesday.

Next week is SATs week for our Year 6 children. As usual, we’ll be doing all we can to make this week as sress-free as possible for them with lots of support and time for mindfulness. Details of a special Breakfast Cafe here: https://parkdale-primary.co.uk/y6-sats-breakfast-cafe/

Year Five enjoyed an exciting Residential trip to the Peak District last week, Wednesday to Friday. The base for the adventure was the Ravenstor Youth Hostel in Miller’s Dale. The weather was reasonably kind and they managed to get out and about climbing, abseiling, walking (5 very demanding miles), orienteering, den building and fire making. The children were a credit to our school and their families. Without exception, everyone we encountered – Youth Hostel staff, instructors, random passers-by – commented on their good manners and great attitude.

A request here for a bit of help tracking down our tennis and table-tennis balls. We’ve ‘lost’ over 200 of each, total value about £150,  in the past few weeks. They are nowhere to be found in school. We have a sneaking suspicion that some might have ‘escaped’ in pockets and bags, accidentally of course – it’s easily done! We’ll have an ongoing ‘amnesty’, no questions asked, for any that can be found and returned.

Last but not least, a shout out for the Brownies! Our local pack would love to see any new recruits: https://parkdale-primary.co.uk/brownies/
